On 28th January we went on a bike trip. Our destination: the Moon Hill! (8 km from Yangshuo). The way is not demanding and rather nice, apart from the fact one has to ride next to the street. The view of 4 people on a motorcycle (or a guy with a golden retriever on a scooter) does not seem very strange now. We, on the other hand, apparently are an incredible attraction, since people take our pictures while driving a car. And they say it's a touristic place...
28. wybrałyśmy się na wycieczkę rowerową. Nasz cel: Moon Hill! (8 km od Yangshuo). Trasa raczej niewymagająca i dość przyjemna, gdyby nie to, że jechało się przy ulicy. Widok 4 osób na motocyklu (albo gościa z golden retrieverem na skuterze) już nie wydaje się bardzo dziwny. Za to my widocznie jesteśmy niezwykłą atrakcją, skoro robią nam zdjęcia z jadących samochodów. A podobno to taka turystyczna miejscowość...
On the way, M decided to support local economy.
Po drodze M postanowiła wesprzeć lokalną gospodarkę.
While hiking up the hill (it's impossible to ride there, as there are stairs), we met an American (probably) family. Clever 6-year-old boy warned us not to expect too much, since "There's nothing but a bunch of rocks there". Maybe he's right, but at least the views are nice.
Wchodząc na górę (nie da się wjechać, bo podejście jest zrobione ze schodów) spotkałyśmy rodzinę (prawdopodobnie) Amerykanów. Rezolutny sześciolatek uprzedził nas, żeby zbyt wiele nie oczekiwać, jako że "Tam jest tylko sterta kamieni". Może i racja, ale widoki ładne.
And there are also some nice views that one may see when they don't exactly follow the path. The "alternative path" is interesting itself - with fragments that one can cross only if using all four limbs.
Można też zobaczyć trochę ładnych widoków, kiedy się trochę zboczy z trasy. Samo zejście z trasy też jest ciekawe - z fragmentami, gdzie pokonuje się drogę z użyciem wszystkich czterech kończyn.
We decided to use the fact that we had bikes and visit the neighbourhood. By chance, we found a real village - sounds of cockcrow, views of houses and fields... There we met two lost Americans - also on bikes. U appreciated how good it is to meet someone speaking an understandable (for her) language. Some pics from the way:
Postanowiłyśmy wykorzystać to, że mamy rowery i pozwiedzać okolicę. Przypadkiem znalazłyśmy prawdziwą wieś - słychać pianie kogutów, widać domostwa i pola... Tam spotkałyśmy dwóch zagubionych Amerykanów - też na rowerach. U doceniła, jak to dobrze spotkać kogoś mówiącego w zrozumiałym dla niej języku. Kilka fotek z trasy:
